How we measure

What stands behind the numbers

A short view of how the figures above were produced. The full report — grade bands, cohort sizes, and the calculation detail — is walked through directly with district leaders.

Nationally normed measures
Growth is reported from NWEA MAP Growth (reading) and STAAR reading — not internal scores.
Same students, start to finish
Each figure compares the same group of readers at the start of the year to the end of the year.
Whole classrooms, not samples
Results reflect every reader in the participating classrooms, including students who began below grade level.
Reviewed before publishing
Figures are pulled from the official assessment reports and only published once they match them.

We publish only figures we can source. The underlying assessment reports are reviewed with your team in a district walkthrough rather than posted publicly. Results reflect specific classrooms and are not a guarantee of outcomes elsewhere.
